(Brr..can we say hurry up Spring? It’s freezing today)…..Great morning to all. I’m working on an artist’s track, a special request that has me a little stumped. Its using an 80′s sample. The song has so many loud snares. I have been filtering like crazy this week trying to remove them as much as possible.

While surfing last month I found a neat little program. If this works all those who sample will want to have it! Made specifically for sampling and remixing, it is software that separates different elements within the track. WoW…Just thinking I could surely use this on the beat I am working on now. Here is a brief description from the official website:

It’s Spring but today it is quite nippy outside. I’ve got plenty to do to keep me busy inside …mixing, POSTING …setting up a website, and later grooming the dogs…of course I’m still so very elated that Bluehost got it all squared away with the server issue.

I was looking for a few new drum kits yesterday. I am about to get back to work on my second one. I don’t want to put out “same ol’ same old” sounds, so I have to keep my ear to the streets to see whats out there already. I have learned so much since the last drumkit so you know the next is going to be awesome!!!

While searching I couldn’t believe I found a site with completely free drumkit downloads. There are no sign ups, no subscribing first, and no spam.. I already had some that are listed but I downloaded a few of them. I loaded them this morn and the sounds aren’t too bad. Some need a little tweaking, but I can’t complain about ‘em..shucks they are FREE ..enjoy and push freedrumkit.net facebook ‘like’ button..

Happy Happy Thursday! This time next week I will have my apron on being chef . I know… I know the post have been about once or twice a week. Sometimes I have to remind all that I’m producer first, artist, then blogger lol. I had so many beats to make and mix. This is always a great thing, but it doesn’t leave much time to post .. thanks all who continue to support the site, knowing that I post as much as I can, when I can. Much love to you all for that.

I hadn’t seen this next little tutorial from Just Blaze. I love his production work. Here he gives a quick example of sample chopping using Logic. The techniques he does can most likely be achieved in any Daw that has a ‘slice ” function.

Cool the way he just sliced on the down beats…. I must try that in Reaper

Afternoon to ya! I’ve been doing some non-music projects over the last few days. Preparing to do photography and video for a wedding this weekend. I also had a chance to be with my family for a nice cook out Sunday. We had a wonderful time and the food was great

Today I am fiddling around with wires, trying to network a Windows 7 pc with a Windows Xp pc. So far so good, if not; I’ll have two set ups. One will be all digital w/ software, and the other will include hardware equipment.

You know me, I have to watch something, or have music going when I’m doing “under the desk” wire connections ..lol. I found a nice beat making documentary that I’m about to push play on. I know a lot of you will enjoy this, it’s more like a movie actually:

Well Well the week is almost over .. I had a productive one I must say. Let’s get right back to it. This is a continuation from yesterdays:

Fl Studio 9.1:Club Banger Tutorial Part 1

I’ve started my beat with:
basic drum pattern, added a “lead” melody, added some effects, some percussion/ sound fx additions, and breaks to the drums.

Today I’m going to continue building the track starting with an additional melody which really flows in an opposite direction than the first. I am using the same notes F,G,G# and C * * from yesterday.

This melody will be a “counter melody”. It will play at the same time as the main melody, but be more as an addition which I can vary through the verses:
