Sample heads where are ya?.. You will love this one!
Can you believe they actually named this Get Lost Singer?..lol
I just tried it on two tracks and it works pretty well. With some eq and adjusting I think this is all I’ll need when filtering samples down to the bassline woo hoo..this is crazy and free!!!
Great morning to you! I’ve been up since 5 am..seems I can’t get rid of a cricket outside my window..lol. I know this is funny but, it sounds like the same one that’s been bothering me for a few years. Some believe they are good luck. Consider me the luckiest person on earth ..ha ha ..
I’m using the time to map out some things, and check out a documentary I’ve had booked marked. This has been out for a while actually. I never got a chance to see the entire show. Shout out to Adrain Haynes a member of The Producers Union, for sharing this gem wow!
(Brr..can we say hurry up Spring? It’s freezing today)…..Great morning to all. I’m working on an artist’s track, a special request that has me a little stumped. Its using an 80′s sample. The song has so many loud snares. I have been filtering like crazy this week trying to remove them as much as possible.
While surfing last month I found a neat little program. If this works all those who sample will want to have it! Made specifically for sampling and remixing, it is software that separates different elements within the track. WoW…Just thinking I could surely use this on the beat I am working on now. Here is a brief description from the official website:
Ground-breaking, unique and fun – Tears apart MP3s/CD tracks and unlocks their basic building blocks – the individual vocals, instruments, percussion & ambient noise!
Let’s look at the video to see what this is all about: Hit’n'Mix – Tear Apart MP3s & CD Tracks
You can find out more info and get the file at: hitnmix.com
This could spark a whole new lane in music really. I’m going to download the free version and try it out right now…
Great morning to you!… I am totally in a crate digging mood. I received an email with a link to a beat making video. This link inspired me to change all my “r&b” beat making plans for today lol….YoU know it must be awesome…
Happy Happy Thursday! This time next week I will have my apron on being chef . I know… I know the post have been about once or twice a week. Sometimes I have to remind all that I’m producer first, artist, then blogger lol. I had so many beats to make and mix. This is always a great thing, but it doesn’t leave much time to post .. thanks all who continue to support the site, knowing that I post as much as I can, when I can. Much love to you all for that.
I hadn’t seen this next little tutorial from Just Blaze. I love his production work. Here he gives a quick example of sample chopping using Logic. The techniques he does can most likely be achieved in any Daw that has a ‘slice ” function.
Cool the way he just sliced on the down beats…. I must try that in Reaper
The video was uploaded by top engineer Mike Chav. His site has mixing info, drum kits and more; www.mikechav.com. Be sure to visit when you have time to look around.
Where are all the sample heads this afternoon? Well have I got a treat for you! Mr. Fresh from vibesandscribes.com, has written one the most extensive articles on sampling I’ve read.
It’s a three part series with loads of information, and links to musicians who work with samples.
Mr. Fresh goes from sampler history, through how samples are used today. Including interviews, and videos. Some of you asked about legal issues regarding sampling?.. well he covers that too!
I was chosen for an interview which is included in: Part 3.
I honestly clicked through all the links, and I just finished watching the last video today. Very nice work Mr. Fresh! Thanks very much for sharing so much knowledge.
Wow its 11:45 am here..I couldn’t log in for a while, but looks like I fixed the error…
I know I haven’t done enough post on Reason 4.0 yet. They take a little longer for me. I will be adding plenty more soon. I’ve gotten all my equipment synced, so all is running smooth and now I am used to the 4.0 edition…
I really like this tutorial. He really gets into the groove of things so to speak . He also uses a sample every producer has probably used. Enjoy..and I’ll be on tomorrow for live help..early am again til around 1:00pm..
