Reason 7 Is On The Way

Posted by Ms.Tris On March - 12 - 2013

Wonderful morning to you! It’s rainy and I will be doing animation all morning, clearing the way for some DYNAMIC BEATS later on. (which reminds me, I have a lot to share with you about Dynamic Producer!!!)..

I upgraded to Reason 6.5 finally back in November. I am loving it and use it combined with Maschine drums by way of importing drums and rewire. I think the only thing Reason needs is the implementation of VSTI. With the addition of Rack Exapansions I am not sure this will ever happen. You know me if there is a work around I will find it!. Looks like Reason 7 may be a key to using anything external. I am excited about this because I could easily have my VSTI’s on my laptop and use them inside Reason with this update.

To think I almost got rid of a few things like the Micron and Motif. Now I can use them inside Reason 7…woo hoo 🙂

How To Rewire Fl Studio and Reason

Posted by Ms.Tris On June - 15 - 2012

Great Friday to you! It’s been a full week for me. I managed to end math class and make a few beats. I used Fl Studio all week, and I wanted to try some sound design with Reason’s Malstrom synth. I had the rewire going smoothly, but was only using one Reason track at a time. Today I’d like to set up a template with multiple outs from Reason to Fl Studio. I’ve mentioned How To Rewire Reason To Various DAWS before. The first video showing how to Rewire Fl Studio and Reason isn’t visually clear. Here is another video that is precisely done for Fl Studio and will help take things a step further. I am sure watching both will get the ball rolling for me this morning…

How To Put Kong Pads On Separate Tracks

Posted by Ms.Tris On May - 31 - 2012

Hey, Hey, Hey!! How are you enjoying the wonderful weather…it’s been rainy here, but between the rain is beautiful sunny sun :)….

I’m working on some dubstep tracks today. I know for what I’d like to do, Maschine and Reason is the fastest route this morning. There is a movement in music with house, club, pop, and dubstep. I’ll be posting a little more about them collaboratively. I try to be a well rounded producer, and of course I want to share the new new for those venturing in other directions outside Hip Hop.

It seems whenever I start software I haven’t used in a while, I wind up learning something new about it. I’ll spend about 30 minutes before I start the beat. This keeps me up to date and fresh on the program. Practice also makes new updates and changes less of a challenge.

For this mornings practice I loaded up Kong. It’s been a while since I used Reason’s Kong , and I’ll need to add effects to the individual drum pads. First I’d like to place each pad on it’s own mixer channel. Once this is set up, I can route effects to them from the rear Reason Panel. I found a video explaining, and it is definitely a wonderful find. The producer that uploaded the gem is signed to Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Label. His name is Bigg Vic and it seems he got his deal from his beat making videos. Be sure to stop by and subscribe, he’s got a lot of valuable info on his channel:

Posted by Ms.Tris On May - 3 - 2012

What’s happening with you? I am sitting here trying to get my day started…just heard my boy T_Sizzle #55 Terrell Suggs may be out for the season BOOOO..You all know I love my Ravens football…. wishing T Sizzle a speedy recovery for sure..

I think Reason 6 is one of the best releases from Propellerhead. There are so many options for music production and audio recording. I just wish I could use vst instruments inside the sequencer. This video really breaks down mixing techniques in Reason 6. It’s a full master class, over an hour. Go grab some food and drink…sit back and enjoy…

Reason 6 Mixing Masterclass with Gary Bromham

Always remember if you don’t have Reason 6, this is still worthy of watching. The techniques can be used for any mix project.

Hey hey all. I’m rolling with The Producers Union content starting today. I will be showcasing, featuring, and sharing info from fellow members.

Kicking off the great run is DjKevWest. Kev and I used to be on around the same time.. ..(OH MY almost 10 yrs I’ve known him)..He’s shared many tips with me on the forums. He is sick with the soul samples and has so much knowledge about production. He is also another producer that helped me get my game proper on the technical side!

Reaper Tutorials And Tips: Rewire and Midi To Reason

Posted by Ms.Tris On December - 2 - 2010

What’s good this afternoon? Have you been working on your mixes? I did a lot yesterday. Today I continued, and ran into a little wall. I was listening to a track and could hear one more synth in my head. I already knew which sound I wanted from the Malstrom in Reason. The problem is, I made the beat using Maschine inside Reaper. Now if I could just get that darn rewire to work I’d be on my way.

I am so glad I went searching the Reaper Resources . I found the best tutorial, and sat for a few hours this morning setting up a template. The best thing about this lesson is it shows you how to Rewire AND send MIDI between Reaper and Reason 🙂 🙂 *yes double smiles for that *

The specific tutorial can be found here:

Tutorials For Reaper | Reason ReWired to Reaper | Track Template

I shall not tell you a lie… this took me a long time to really get it down. I worked through it, pausing the video after each step. Once I added a few modules in Reason and checked my recordings in Reaper, I did a few on my own. I am still working with a few tweaks, but now I can easily load a template and get started.

This really worked for me today. What I liked most is now I can record the entire beat inside Reason, then stream the audio into Reaper. This allows me to correct any midi inside Reason. I find this a bit easier than using Reapers midi editor.

The tutorial is from: Like the name says it’s full of great Reaper videos. Stop by when you have a chance. I’m watching one more before I get back to work. Thanks again to
