Hey hey all. I’m rolling with The Producers Union content starting today. I will be showcasing, featuring, and sharing info from fellow members.
Kicking off the great run is DjKevWest. Kev and I used to be on RapMusic.com around the same time.. ..(OH MY almost 10 yrs I’ve known him)..He’s shared many tips with me on the forums. He is sick with the soul samples and has so much knowledge about production. He is also another producer that helped me get my game proper on the technical side!
I opened my morning emails and man oh man ..this update is top notch! Propellerhead will also release Reason Essentials, a scaled down version of Reason 6
Excepts from email: The Rack is United
Inside Reason 6
Reason version 6 is coming this Fall. We’re uniting the rack in Reason 6, bringing over all the features from Record – audio recording, the Neptune pitch corrector/voice synth, the large format mixer with our classic modeled EQ and dynamics on every channel, and the oh so lovely Master Bus Compressor. In addition, however, we’re adding three new rack devices which share a common goal: creative use of effects…………
Introducing Reason Essentials
Everything you need to create anything you want
Reason Essentials is our new software designed for the highly creative musician and songwriter. With unlimited audio and instrument tracks, Reason Essentials will handle any idea you can throw at it. Just like its bigger brother Reason 6, Essentials gives you that legendary Propellerhead sequencer workflow, rock solid stability, flexible rack and cable routing……
What’s good this afternoon? Have you been working on your mixes? I did a lot yesterday. Today I continued, and ran into a little wall. I was listening to a track and could hear one more synth in my head. I already knew which sound I wanted from the Malstrom in Reason. The problem is, I made the beat using Maschine inside Reaper. Now if I could just get that darn rewire to work ..lol I’d be on my way.
I am so glad I went searching the Reaper Resources . I found the best tutorial, and sat for a few hours this morning setting up a template. The best thing about this lesson is it shows you how to Rewire AND send MIDI between Reaper and Reason *yes double smiles for that *
I shall not tell you a lie… this took me a long time to really get it down. I worked through it, pausing the video after each step. Once I added a few modules in Reason and checked my recordings in Reaper, I did a few on my own. I am still working with a few tweaks, but now I can easily load a template and get started.
This really worked for me today. What I liked most is now I can record the entire beat inside Reason, then stream the audio into Reaper. This allows me to correct any midi inside Reason. I find this a bit easier than using Reapers midi editor.
The tutorial is from: http://tutorialsforreaper.com/. Like the name says it’s full of great Reaper videos. Stop by when you have a chance. I’m watching one more before I get back to work. Thanks again to tutorialsforreaper.com/.
Hey All… it’s Friday… yay!! I’m preparing for the long weekend, excited about the fun. I had a great day yesterday with “live help”, met some cool folks, and even got some links to wonderful music sites. Shout out to producer “G-Quick” for the links.
I wasn’t supposed to log on today, but I’m in the mood to make some tracks..
I was going to post about this yesterday, I’m glad I waited because GeeWiz On Soundcloud posted this video on FB:
Reason 5 and Record 1.5
WoWWW… I’m looking forward to this release… I always wanted the sampling capability in Reason… I love the synths already. This is definitely on the “will get” list as of today….
Reason users.. honestly..doesn’t Reason5 make your head spin with excitement?..lol
Good morning all! What a rainy week we’re having on the east coast ..can’t complain because it makes it easy to work inside..
I’ve been using Native Instruments Maschine all week. I have it as a plug in inside Reaper. It’s a cool set up, and I am almost ready to do Maschine tutorials.
I have my template set. When I open Reaper, I load a template that has two Maschine Vsts, Kore Player, and Fl Studio. I really love the work flow now. The thing is I’d also love a few of Reason’s sound modules. The Malstrom, Subtracktor, Nnxt, and Dr.Rex would really complete my set up.
I have never gotten Reason to Rewire to any Daw without doing a search. I guess it’s time to really understand how to do this. I’ll need to look at a few videos so I can remember the steps needed to add Reason.
Here are a few videos that may help others out. I have added some of this info before, but I thought it’d be cool to have most of the info in one post:
What’s up my people? Hope all is well and you’ve been making big beats…
I always love seeing new software in action before I purchase. Here Mocean Worker explains Propellerhead Record using a real remix project he’s working on. A lot “pros” are revealed in this one from the PropellerheadSW Youtube channel ….
Today I’m gonna dive into rewire. I’m gonna use Fl Studio 8 rewired to Sonar Le. First thing I do is open my help file, and follow the instructions. So far so good. Next I decided I want to use Reason and Fl Studio later on, rewired to Sonar… So I start fiddling with the options…. 1/2 hour into this, and I’m ready to just make the beat…lol
Hmnn Fl Studio 8 and Reason..some might say ” why would you want to do that?” For me Fl Studio gives the kick a grimy underground HipHop sound, and Reason synths have better quality without as much tweaking. That’s it… no more no less… both programs are awesome. Remember I told you I am just getting deep into mixing, so right now I have to do the best mix I can inside the software then export and mix in my editor. I’ve often made beats with Reason wishing I had that grimy kick from Fl Studio… okay so here we are… I ” you tubed ” it and found this quick video that shows how to rewire Reason 3.0 to Fl Studio 8, from the picture the producer looks young but his beat is pretty hot too… let’s get to it
Aighty I’m off to make some new heat..time to update the beat section. I’m still working on the pages but coming soon you’ll have all the Ms.Tris Beats in categories… yaay.
**All emcees stop back later I’m gonna do a ” Friday Freebie”…**
