My week is starting today. I went out with my cousins this weekend and had a blast! I also hit Street Legal Studios with female rap duo Golden Seal, who will be releasing HOT material this spring and summer. We have been working hard on quite a few big bangers!! I am excited to be close to sharing with all of you, new music that kept me too busy for regular posting…

I ran a few errand this morning. Whenever I don’t start working right away, I like to surf for goodies before I begin anything beat wise. I was looking for a few latin loops to chop and remembered that I had downloaded tons of samples from www.musicradar.com .

Jackpot! I’m going to go through some of them off my hard drive now. I am sure I’ll find something great to get me going today. There are tons of samples to download in the SampleRadar section. Hope you have a lot of disk space, if you are like me, you will want them all ..lol

Hey all I haven’t posted links to free stuff in a little minute..

A lot of you asked me to post Flp (Fl Studio project files) when I do tutorials. I use so many vst instruments that I rarely add FLP files. I was thinking they wouldn’t work the same as when I made the beat, if I didn’t include the vsti.

I found a site with a bunch of Flp files, drum sounds, soundfonts, and more:

Digging Digging.. any sample heads out there who just can’t get enough funky breaks? Well, Well, Well!.. I forgot all about the Phat Drum Loops Site. I recently updated my bookmarks and found some gems like these there:

Most of the loops are lo fi mp2 files. It easy to convert them using an audio editor, as well as eq, filter and slice them. Try loading them into the free Beat Burner Vst for some cool effects.

Good Morning All. I’m already working hard on some club bangers. I found a couple nice Vst Instruments last night. I’m loading them in Reaper right after this post..:-)

The next one is from Native Instruments. It’s called Kore. There is a Kore2 out now which cost around $800.00. Wow it must be loaded with sounds!

Dilliot actually mentioned this in one of his videos. From what I read you get about 300Mb of instruments in the free one. You can update by purchasing more. You will have to sign up for the link through email and register the software even though it’s free.. Here is a video that explains how to download and install for use in Fl Studio..

Hey all.. I’m already busy busy this morning, which is good… Todays post was going to be completely about brass, by request. Once I went back to the DSK site where I got a FREE Brass Vst, I started checking out more plugins. I decided to just give DSK Music most of the shine today….

They have a great selection, and the DSK Brass works well enough. When you get free vst instruments you will most likely have to add a bit of eq and other effects to get the sound you want. For Brass vsts and soundfonts try adding a touch of Reverb to give it a “Chamber” sound, like a real Orchestra Horn Section. Also I’ve been playing around with loading seperate sounds and using my software to layer the instruments. For example:In Reason I may combine 5 NNXT modules loaded with a few trumpets,french horn, tuba, and a preset brass section. This gives a rich sounding Brass, much better than single instruments. To do this in Fl Studio I would have to use the “Layer” function, and layer a few Vsts or soundfont players.

You are gonna feel like it’s xmas if you don’t already have the Instruments DSK offers. I can’t wait to try the rest later:

Once you get all your Brass and other goodies, be sure to come back and use the chord progression tutorials. This will help you play some dramatic compositions using the sounds…
