Great morning to you! I got up a tad late after enjoying the 2011 BET awards. I think the show went fairly well. I see the folks at BET gave Chris Breezy the “your cool pass”, he was all over the stage ..lol
Here are some of my favorite performances: Patti Labelle
I’ve seen Patti Labelle in concert several times..she is a legend indeed!
Chris Brown
Oh my and “The Real Husbands” segments were hilarious…ha ha I love Kevin Hart..
Hope all are safe with all the tornado warnings and landings through out the east coast…please be careful if you are traveling….
You all know I love Corey Gunz flow…his MTV series premiers tonight at 11pm EST. His father, Peter Gunz will make several appearances through out the season as well.
When I heard that Slaughterhouse got signed to Shady Records I was happy for them. I am more familiar with Joe Budden and Joell Ortiz. I know that Joe Budden has been just under the “Super emcee” radar for a while now. He’s always put out solid mixtapes and his beat selection is on point. Joell Ortiz wowed me with his punchlines back in 2007. I hadn’t heard many tracks tracks from Crooked I and Royce Da 5’9 until the“Slaughterhouse” album release. They too have been grinding hard on the underground semi mainstream scene for a minute now. I think all the emcees deserve proper backing and promotion.
Check out the preview: Slaughterhouse Ep
I was surprised how fast they released this Ep. It is really great to hear witty lyrics that most of us are missing from radio now days. DID you hear the BEATS?!? ….So far so good… I’m about to purchase!
Happy Tuesday! How was your holiday week? I had a fun time, and I did not over eat yaay …
I had time to really listen to Nicki Minaj’s 1st official release “Pink Friday”. Again Young Money has shocked me. Like Drake, I didn’t expect so much singing from such a witty emcee. Smart move by Lil Wayne signing them. Both Drake and Nicki can sing. I am not mad with the cd at all. It’s been on repeat in the ride since I got it. It’s different, and at times she reminds me somewhat of Busta Ryhmes, when using all the crazy flows.
Preview And Purchase The Album From Amazon
I did notice that Pink Friday incorporates a lot of pop type melodies through out. Heavy use of synths on almost every song. Some of you may wonder how to create the synth sounds heard in tracks like “Moment 4 Life ft Drake”. The sound I’m referring to comes in around 7 secs: Nicki Minaj Moment 4 Life
Well if you have Reason it can be achieved with the Malstrom or Subtractor. There are even a few free vst instruments that will help you come close like the Ugo Audio Rez2 or Superwave8. For the hardware lovers, the Alesis micron has almost the exact sound used in “Moment 4 Life”.
This is surely a theme song for me, I love uplifting songs that make me feel inspired to keep grinding with the music. I am also loving “Fly” featuring Rhianna. Did Rhi Rhi blaze that hook or what?… Check out some live footage from last Thursdays Thanksgiving show: Nicki Minaj & Rhianna LIVE Hammerstein Ballroom 11/25/10 Thanksgiving video fromhttp://www.youtube.com/user/roscoebadboy

Hey all… Who’s ready for some football? You all know I love my Ravens .. 1st preseason game is tomorrow night, so I’ve got much work to do today. I want to get some “game day” food, and be able to watch the game from start to finish ….woo hoo…
I got an email yesterday from Dynamic Producers. I had no idea “Kanyeezy” was doing ustream. He’s been taking over the net with post about his tweets. I’ve got love for Kanye, I respect his passion for music. I don’t like some of the things he does, but I give him props on the production tip. Over all I think he’s an interesting guy, when he tames the ego.. He explains a lot in this video…Thanks to Felisha Booker for the find..
He’s very open about his craft…a lot of artist hide so much. I think it’s good to share, because up coming artist can learn so much…
**Quick Ms.Tris Beats Update**
I am finally back on my beat grind. I can never tell when I’ll get busy with artist. This fall I plan to settle down a bit, and work on me. I am feeling so good about creating right now. I am in a different phase of my career as a producer, and need to reach some goals. Expect more beats to be added here, and on my soundclick page. I loaded a Club Beat this week, you can listen to it here:
