What’s poppin’ readers? A slow start but I’m up at at em… got the equipment on, and a nice sample ready to chop…

Hundreds of athletes get motivated and pumped up before they make an entrance to the field, arena, or court. You’ve seen them in their huddles, or coming into the ring doing all kinds of little rituals. Have you ever noticed how many of the routines are done to music?
I often do the same thing when I’m starting a beat. Yesterday I sat down to make a track with a dirty south feel, and winded up doing a smooth R&B composition. I had every intention on making some rolling snares and boomy 808 drums. When I started the beat at the end of a long day, I just wasn’t in a “mind state” for a hard core hip hop session.
Although I’m prepared now, this morning I felt like cleaning instead of working. I’m sure many of you go through times when you just don’t feel like it. This is when you have get yourself motivated like the athletes. When I need to get in a certain mood, I listen to songs or watch videos that give certain emotional spark. Since I haven’t been doing many hard hitting sample beats this month, I went straight to a few Mpc videos on youtube.

This was posted by moneyhungryradio.com about a year ago. It’s the initial video that got Araab his internet buzz. Today was my first time watching, and he’s definitely an mpc power user…
After watching this I am totally in the mood to do some chopping, and I’m now a fan of Araab
