2009 One Stop Shop Producers Conference Video

Posted by Ms.Tris Beats On August - 24 - 2009

Hey All! Hope things are going great for you… I finally restored windows, and had to get a new monitor. The summer is basically over from a work point of veiw. Now its time to get rolling with fall projects etc.

Right now I’m getting the studio back together after doing a bit of rearranging after the pc fix. This reminds me to remind you to BACKUP your pc. Also if you plan to restore or upgrade your hard drive remember to save your plugins in one folder. This will make it easier when reinstalling your software.

Basic Beat Making: Logic Edition

Posted by Ms.Tris Beats On August - 10 - 2009

Happy Monday to you :-) .. Much work to get to today, up early preparing for today’s session…

I would like to make post on all the popular software producers use.
I’ll be adding them as I come across videos or blogs. Today we’ll take a look at Logic.

I honestly can’t remember the last time I’ve used Logic. I do remember being able to load it up, and make a track easily using included plug ins.

I’ve been hearing a lot of great things about the program. From what I understand, the latest releases are for Mac only.

I know Just Blaze used it for JayZ’s “Show Me What You Got”. That’s more proof it’s worth looking into…

The following video shows how to make a beat in Logic Studio.

Just a quick note on Reaper 3.0 update. The user guide is now free to download. They have made edits to keep it up to date with 3.0. Before you had to give a donation. I downloaded mine this morning and I’m about to try something new in Reaper.

Link to Reaper User Guide. 400 pages included:

I would like to use Reaper today for a full beat. No mpc ,no Reason, no Fl Studio. The first thing I needed to know is how to set up a drum vst. I know how to load the instrument, but I’d like to record each part to separate tracks.

Very happy I found this video byhttp://www.limitless-studios.com.
Using EZ-Drummer in Reaper

I have everything set up now- yaay! I am assuming this video will work for other vst drum modules also. Let me know if you try with any other vsti like GTG Drum Sampler.

For The Pad Pushers:Akai Mpd and Giant Mpc!

Posted by Ms.Tris Beats On August - 5 - 2009

Good morning artist.. Hope your week is beat filled!

akai-mpd24

I’m getting straight to work on something today. I have no idea what type of beat I want to make. Just one of those days where I’ll go with the flow, and step out side the musical box I guess.

On days like this, I’ll usually turn on the hardware and open either Reason or Fl Studio. Everything is ready to go with some drums loaded.

Sometimes I’ll start with a few break beats, or find a hot sample to flip. Other times I just start playing some chords, and build from there.

I may get my inspiration from reading music books and tutorials. Then there the days when a few cool videos just spark up the beat making flames…

11 Year Old HipHop Producer: VohnBeatz

Posted by Ms.Tris Beats On August - 4 - 2009

Hey All! I’ve been on a mini vacation in AC. Boy was it fun…Now it’s back to much work.

Please remember sometime in the near future I’ll be changing the site design. I am hoping it will go super smooth with little down time.

I found a link on twitter which introduced me to 11 year old VohnBeatz. He’s the son of producer/emcee S1 of “Strange Fruit Project”.

I have seen some talented young musicians on the net. This is the first time I have heard classic hiphop beats from anyone under 14.

Vohn has already released a few cd’s for artist to download and select beats to purchase. Here is one of his cd covers from VohnBeatz Myspace page, be sure to stop by for more music and videos:
