Hey Hey all! Hope everything is going smooth. I’ve been rolling in the studio with a lot of artist. Making music happen. Here is a new release called “Changes”. The emcee is Stevie Krizz and the song features(introducing) Erin Monique my awesome new singer! I produced the track using Fl Studio and Maschine!! More music to come….lol yes still in school but the music is on and poppin’!
Hey Hey and great afternoon to you! A few weeks ago I went to the Lineup Room Recording Studio for a “Vocal Mic Shoot Out”. Engineer Brandon Lackey has been putting together some awesome meet ups for Home Recorders. The meet up was all about the mics. Each home recorder (such as myself) brought along different mics. The mics were then compared by recording the same vocal. Talk about a beautiful array of microphones! There were many Blue, Shure, Audio Technica and various mics. It was very exciting to hear some of the top end gear. I can hardly wait to listen to the results. This type of event is great right now as I prepare to upgrade or at least add something new for vocal recording.
I am really enjoying the engineering more and more. It seems the more I learn, the more I like to mix. Back to a slightly normal schedule, I found an awesome “throwback” video. This is filled with all the bells and whistles. David Gibson does an awesome job combining visuals with the mixing process. It is very funny at times and kind of trippy but extremely useful! Warning you may find yourself laughing out loud; however, I am sure you will earn something new here:
WooHoo almost 2014! 2013 breezed by for me. Music has been keeping me extremely busy lately. I am working with seven new artist. I’ve been venturing into Pop and R&B over the last four months having a great time. Before I get back to the chord progressions, I am going to check Fabolous’s Soul Tape 3 Mixtape. So far it’s making me want to dig in the crates and start sample chopping….
What’s happening my great and super producers? You know my thing has been a lot of school and little music. It’s been down to once a month it seems, however you know I’ll let you know about the musical goodies along the way. Also many have been emailing me and a few have been commenting. Although my post writing time is limited, I am always available for help. Just comment or email and I will get back to you as soon as possible…..

I upgraded to Reason 6.5 finally back in November. I am loving it and use it combined with Maschine drums by way of importing drums and rewire. I think the only thing Reason needs is the implementation of VSTI. With the addition of Rack Exapansions I am not sure this will ever happen. You know me if there is a work around I will find it!. Looks like Reason 7 may be a key to using anything external. I am excited about this because I could easily have my VSTI’s on my laptop and use them inside Reason with this update.
To think I almost got rid of a few things like the Micron and Motif. Now I can use them inside Reason 7…woo hoo
